Pam Purkis – President
I was introduced to Pender Island when relatives settled here in the 1950’s.  I have been visiting  every summer since 1988 and became a year-round resident in 2015. My attraction to Pender is the slow pace and friendly people.  The lack of traffic – except when the ferry comes in – is a major joy.

Martha Deme – Vice-President (Past President)
My husband and I moved to Pender Island from Ontario in July 2014. I have a sister and brother-in-law living here since their retirement 10 years ago and I would come to visit them each summer. I retired in 2012 and my husband retired July 11, 2014. The moving truck was at our door July 16, 2014. We really are enjoying the island life and the special community here. Everyone we met told us to be careful when joining activities or going on boards because you can overwhelm yourself. It didn’t take long before I became involved with Newcomers, the Quilter’s Circle, the choir and ladies league golf. My husband is just as busy if not more so with golf, the choir and duplicate bridge. The two of us are enjoying every minute of our time on this beautiful island called Pender.

Annie Smith – Secretary
My husband, Don, and I moved to Pender at the end of September 2015 and are so happy to be full-timers.  We had visited my sister here for many years and were just waiting until I retired from teaching to make the move.  Pender is such a wonderful community, and I am enjoying exploring some of the volunteer opportunities and getting to know people!

Blaine Marler- Treasurer
We have been coming to Pender Island off and on since 1979 but finally retired here in September of 2015. The pace of life, climate and amenities offered by this island can’t be beat! The opportunity to meet new people, join different organizations, and contribute to a variety of causes has made life on Pender a joy.

Individual phone numbers, emails, and addresses are handily found in the Pender Island Lions’ Phone Book.
